When you pair Yatin Patel’s business savvy with legal expertise, then add in his proactive, analytical, creative, and people-focused approach, you have a leader who is redefining what it means to practice both law and business.
Originally from Palo Alto, Yatin earned a B.S. in Managerial Economics from University of California-Davis. He started his career as an Information Technology Consultant for PwC Consulting and IBM Consulting where he learned how to manage personalities, stakeholders, and needs while implementing technology solutions.
After almost five years in IT consulting, he went to law school, earning his J.D. from Marquette University Law School. He’s proud that he passed the California Bar Exam on his first attempt, but most proud of his process and the discipline that got him there.
After working for several California law firms, Yatin realized that he practiced a unique form of law influenced by his lifelong exposure to real estate and his own career in consulting and business. In his own practice, he disentangled an emotionally-charged, 40-year family partnership. He also secured entitlements for a 99-room hotel in the notoriously-difficult City of Palo Alto. After three years of pressing forward proactively, it was approved unanimously by the City Council.
When he’s not navigating the unique dynamics of law, mediation, business, and real estate, he’s spending time with his wife, Amee, son, and daughter. He and Amee enjoy going out to eat, watching sports live, and seeing the world together; just ask Amee what it was like to navigate Yatin learning to drive on the opposite side of the road in Ireland.
Yatin is proud to serve as his son’s personal announcer for both football and basketball games at home and his daughter’s partner in puzzles. Together, the Patels can pull off a mean version of their own carpool karaoke.
Yatin loves to play basketball, and, as a lifelong fan thanks to his father and uncle, watch his beloved 49ers.
